Lester
Trophies got it's start in 1978 when founder Ed Lester used a "Free Pass"
to a sporting goods trade show in Montreal to purchase a hand held engraving
machine and a box of trophy parts. With the help of his wife Dianne, the company
grew from it's spare bedroom start to a 300 square foot store. To accommodate
client demand, a screen printing division was added in 1983. Sports jerseys,
hats, crests, jackets and T-shirts were now customized on site.
In
January 1992, realizing that more space was required, Ed and Dianne purchased
the current building and filled it with two new electronic engraving machines,
a multi-head screen printing machine and hundreds of trophy parts and accessories
to become the area's largest family owned and operated award supplier. With
the help of their son Tony, new computers for engraving and graphic creation
were added in 1998.
In
2000, daughter Michelle assisted in establishing an embroidery division.
